You can also contact the Health Information Service on 0800665544 for
medical and dental emergencies.
The main Post Office is located on Castle Place and is opened from 9am
to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 7pm on Saturdays. There |
are
branches on Bedford St, Botanic Avenue and at the corner of University
Road and College Gardens.
The Belfast Welcome Centre (call 90246606 for information or visit
www.gotobelfast.com) is located on Donegall Place and has the following
opening times:
9am-7pm Monday to Friday – 9am-5.15pm Saturdays – 10am-4pm
Sundays from June to September
9am-5.30pm Monday to Saturday from October to May
Fáilte Ireland (call 90327888 for information or visit
www.ireland.travel.ie) is located on Castle St and has the following
opening times:
9am to 5pm Monday to Friday year round
9am to 12.30pm on Saturdays in July and August
There are also Tourist Information Desks at Belfast City Airport and
Belfast International Airport. |
| PS : Note that Belfast is not a particularly dangerous city for the tourist.
As in any other city there are areas to avoid. In Belfast it is better
to keep out of ‘interface areas’ such as the Peace Lines, Crumlin Road
and the Short Strand after dark. If you would like to take a picture of
police stations or other military/security buildings or persons, or
pictures in the Protestant and Catholic strongholds, it is better to
ask first for permission. |
