is not much to see in this flatter part of the county. Ballinasloe is
the largest town in the area, a pleasant town with however no major
attraction. Clonfert Cathedral is located some 21km southeast from
Ballinasloe and bears a beautiful Romanesque doorway. Loughrea’s St
Brendan’s Catholic Cathedral (call 841 212 for information) is a recent
building (1903) has Celtic-revival stained glass. Its furnishings and
