Known as a protestant territory, this part of the county is nonetheless worth a visit. Draperstown is a pleasant market town which was founded in the early 17th century by the London drapers. The Ulster Plantation Centre (call 79627800 for information) has interesting multimedia displays on the history of the Plantation. Moneymore which dates back to the same period, is home to the country house of Springhill (call 86748210 for information), a great example of Plantation architecture. |
